Among Metro cities with more than 10,000 population, Roseville has the <br />2nd highest percent of residents over the age of 65 (21 %) and ranks <br />highest among the largest metro cities with over 3 % of its current <br />population over age 85. This speaks well of the quality of life and health <br />of our seniors. <br /> <br />6. From 2000 to 2020, the 55-64 year olds will remain stable at 14%;the <br />65-74 age group will increase from 14% to 16%; and, the 75+ age group <br />will increase from 17% to 27% of the population. The majority (57%) <br />of Roseville's head of households will be more than 55 years of age. <br /> <br />7. Currently, homes with a head of household over the age of 65 represent <br />14 % of the population. Currently, nearly one of every three Roseville <br />households has an individual over 65 (31 % ) and it will increase to 43 % <br />by the year 2020. <br /> <br /> <br />8. The current total housing units = 15,200 est. (2002) <br />Two scenarios have been developed by Roseville Community <br />Development Staff as follows: <br /> <br />9. Traditional Trend Growth - <br />Traditional Trend Growth assumes complete build-out of all vacant <br />developable land from 1999 to 2020, based on the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />The city will have 15,834 housing units and 35,600 residents. <br /> <br />LR - Low density at 4 units or less per acre (increase by 322 units) <br />MR - Medium density at 4 to 10 units per acre (increase by 108 units) <br />HR - High ~~_nsity at 10 to 18 units per acre (increase by_262 units) <br /> <br />to. Concentrated Growth <br />Concentrated Growth assumes complete build-out of all vacant developable <br />and redevelop able land from 1999 to 2020, based on the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. The city will have 16,956 housing units and 37,000+ <br />residents. <br /> <br />LR - Low density at 4 units or less per acre (increase by 16 units) <br />MR - Medium density at 4 to 10 units per acre (increase by 400 units) <br />HR - High density at 10 to 18 units per acre (increase by 1,482 units) <br /> <br />2 <br />
