Ultimately the responsibility for the maintenance of the park falls on the City. <br />Maintenance for the rain garden would be less intrusive than for the sump! trench design. <br />Rain garden maintenance would include aeration of the soil, perhaps some tilling. <br />Maintenance for the sump! trench would be the excavation of the system and its <br />reconstruction as needed. This would equate to excavation in the park every 5 to 10 years. <br />In the short term and in the long term, the rain garden is the lower cost alternative. <br /> <br />As a result, we do not support changing the approved drainage plan for this site.
