<br />1 In the event an owner or agent is charged with a violation of law, including any provision <br />2 of this Code or other regulation, it shall be no defense that a permit was issued pursuant <br />3 to this Chapter. (Ord. 842, 2-12-79) <br /> <br />4 901.17: OCCUP'^1.Ll\TCY PERMITS: <br /> <br />5 ,^.. permit shall be required for the occupancy of any building or remodeled building, <br />6 vvThich building required a building permit for the building or remodeling thereof. For the <br />7 purposes of this Section, \vhen any building or remodeled building is complete, the <br />8 person which constructed the same and holds the permit, pursuant to Section 901.09, <br />9 shall apply to the Director of Community Devv'elopment for an occupancy permit, and the <br />10 Director of Community Development shall issue an occupancy permit after the Director <br />11 of Community Development has determined that the building or remodeling has been <br />12 constructed in accordance with the terms of the Building Code. (Ord. 385, 1 14 63; amd. <br />13 1995 Code) <br /> <br />14 CHAPTER 902 <br />15 FIRE PREVENTION <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 902.01: ADOPTION OF UNIFORM MINNESOTA STATE FIRE CODE: <br /> <br />18 The most recent edition of the Uniform Minnesota State Fire Code, as published by the <br />19 International Fire Code Institute and adopted by the State Fire Marshal, along with all <br />20 amendments to that edition adopted by the State Fire Marshal are adopted by reference <br />21 and made a part of the City Code. (1995 Code) <br /> <br />22 902.02: ESTABLISHMENT AND DUTIES OF FIRE MARSHAL : <br /> <br />23 A. The Uniform Minnesota State Fire Code shall be enforced by the office of the Fire <br />24 Marshal of the City. <br /> <br />25 B. The Fire Marshal shall be appointed by the Fire Chief. City Manager. Whenever the term State Fire Marshal or Fire Chief appear in the Uniform Minnesota <br />28 State Fire Code, it shall include the Fire Marshal of the City. (Ord. 1060,5-22-89) <br /> <br />29 D. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail members of the Fire Department as <br />30 assistant Fire Marshals. <br /> <br />31 E. A report of the office of the Fire Marshal shall be made annually and shall be <br />32 transmitted to the City Manager.
