Islands In Cul-De-Sacs: With the approval of the City, a landscaped island <br />may be constructed in a cul-de-sac. A clear distance of twenty-four feet (24') <br />minimum shall be required between the island and the outer curb. (1103.021F) <br /> <br />3. No physical barriers which would impede the movement of emergency <br />vehicles shall be allowed within the island. In all cases, no parking shall be <br />allowed in cul-de-sacs with landscaped islands. (Ord. 1167, 7-8-1996) <br />(1103. 021 F) <br /> <br />Section 1018.05 Design and Maintenance of Parking and Loading Areas <br /> <br />A. The location and specifications for curb cuts and driveways in accordance with <br />this Section shall be a necessary part of the plot plan for the use and structure and <br />must be approved prior to the issuance of a building permit. <br /> <br />B. Standards For Size Of Parking Space: Space for a single vehicle shall be nine feet <br />by eighteen feet (9' x 18') or larger, provided up to fifty percent (50%) of the <br />required spaces may be not less than eight feet by eighteen feet (8' x 18') when <br />posted "Compact Vehicles Only". Aisles for ingress and egress shall be provided <br />and shaJJ be a minimum of twenty-four feet (24') in width. <br />(1 004.01D2)(1 005. OlDl)(1 007.01Fl) <br /> <br />C. Standards For Driveways And Parking Lots: The following regulations shall <br />apply to all driveways and aisles in parking lots: (703.04B) <br /> <br />1. Maximum Width: <br /> <br />a. R-1 And R-2 Zones: For single-family and duplex principal structures <br />within the R-1 and R-2 Zones, the maximum width of any driveway at the <br />property line shall be twenty-six feet (26'). In addition to the maximum <br />width, at each side of the driveway where the driveway intersects the <br />street, three foot (3') flares are permitted. The maximum driveway width <br />for all other uses shall be thirty-six feet (36') and ten-foot (10') flares are <br />permitted. (703.04Bla) <br /> <br />b. All Other Zones: Except for the single-family and duplex principal <br />structures, the maximum driveway width for all other types of properties <br />shall be thirty six feet (36') as measured at the property line. In addition to <br />the maximum width, at each side of the driveway for such property where <br />the driveway intersects the street, ten foot (10') flares are permitted. <br />(703.04Bl b) <br /> <br />5 <br />
