The City Cour)cll at Its 18 November 1985 meeling, approved a Special <br />Use Permit for the development of the SWMI'l Trust Property by the <br />JLN Development Company, (nc. Attached is a copy of the site plan <br />approved by that action, a copy v: the planmng report relating to that <br />proposal, e.nd copy of the CounCI111I approval action, includlOg the ten <br />conditIons attached to the Special Use Permit appMval. <br /> <br />2. SlOce that time, the ,taff has met several times with representatives of <br />the applicant conside;ing cha'lges in the development program. <br />ronowing the prevloU$ly described attarhments, there are a series of <br />eight reduced drawings illustrating the revl:sed development. However, <br />additional revisicns are currently bf'ing considered and are anticipated to <br />~e fmali..ed by Monday, March J. Assummg the revisions 'Ire completed <br />by that time, we will prl:'pare another report to be submitted to the <br />Planning Commission (and mailed to . he Council) for their March 5 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />3. The 101'.lally epproved development program Included a 157,620 square <br />foot structure, plus ll. 100 room hotel, to be served by 647 parking <br />spaces (as required by ordmnn~e). The attached preliminary reVisions as <br />propose a 203,400 square foot structure, plus a ] 20 room hotel, to be <br />servl'ld by 772 parking spaces. <br /> <br />4. Ooe of o.Jr concems With respect to the reVised development (as <br />indIcated on the attached sheets) IS the inadequacy of parkmg In the <br />vicinity of the proposed hotel, in contrast to the very large proportion <br />of parking betilnd the structures on the west Side of the site. The <br />structures have been moved easterly, thereby redUCing the east SIde <br />parking capacity, enlargIng the west. <br />
