Dahlgren ind~cated that was true.
?articular ~nstance, it seemed like a
something other than s~ngle-family at
Highway 36 interchange.

Mr. Moeller 1ndicated he was concerned about the possible noise from
rooftop or ground air condit1oning un1ts. Mr. Lee commented they
would probably have lndlvldual mechanical systems for each apartment
unlt. He did not think there would be any rooftop un~ts, although
he could not say for sure at this tlme.

~r. Lee lndicated that all proposed b~lldings would have rubblsh
storage in the buildings.

~r. Lee will lease the apartments to Deslgns for Llv~ng Unlimited, a
fl~m from DCVlls Lake, No~th Dakota. Alan Metzger, vice president
of Designs for L1Vl.lg Unhmlted, stated their basic concept was
congregate llv~ng. Tho apartments wlll prov1de fer lndependent
11vlng w~th a varlety of dlfferent levels of services available
en request. Some services w111 be lncluded ln the basic tent,
<.md others will be an addlu'?nal charge. He commented the market
tor this type of houslng 1S qrowlng rapidly.

~r. Moeller asked if a parklng variance were approved for the
s~nlors houslng from two to one and one half spaces per unit,
could the apartment later be used for other than senlors. Mr.
Jahlgren indicated that it could happen, and that there was some
rlsk. However~ there is a strong markc~ for tne senlor houslng.

~r. Lee ind~cated the Daycarc Centcr would be operated by
KlnderCare.

Mr. Jack Gable, 1038 County Road B-2, asked how high the apartment
buildings would be. Mr. Lee responded they would be about 36 feet
above ground level.

Mr. Gable asked lf there would be food pr~parat10n on the s1te. Mr.
Metzger responded there would be no food pt~pared on S1tC, and all
food would be brought in.

:1r. Gable lnquLred why the development has to be on such a grand
scale, that lt 1S necessary to take away the R-l zonlnq on
Grandvlew. Mr. Lee lndicated the proposed apartmen-~ ~rt d mlnlmum
of 70 feet sout.h of Grandvlew. He stated that If t..d a"artments
Here bUllt a lltt.lu further south, there would be room for a row
of sln~le-famlly homos on the south slde of Grandvlew. Hf
understood the nelghbors preferred that not happen.

~r, Lee stated the cntlre property north to Grandvlew lS show~ on
the Comprehenslve plan as R-3 for hlgh-dens~ty resldentlal
development.

.
