Mr. Klecker lndicated the town~ouse was about IS feet closer to County Road C than tho existing homes. Mrs. Dressler requested further comment rogarding the Pire Department concerns on the cul-de-sac and the r~quirerl water service. Mr. Dougherty, Fire Chief, indicated the Unifo~ Pire Code requires deadend roads to provide for the turning around of Pire Department apparatus. He COllllllented the proposal includes a 6" deadend water main into the townhouse complex. The development requires an 8" 11ne. In addition, if the 8" Une is not looped into another water maln, the sprinkling of the units would be required. Mr. Xehr indicated they propose to construct an 8" deadend main. Mr. Klecker commented the applicant would put in a temporary turnaround, using a gravel base with sod over the top. Mr. Dougherty stated thet would not be acceptable because the gravel base would not be sufficient to hold the woight of the flre trucks. Mr. Klecker felt there could be enough base to support the load of the trucks. ~lr. Dougherty indicated elther the Sit main would need to be looped into another water main. or the bUlldings would need to be sprinklered. Mr. Honchell. Public Works Director, commented the RoseVllle f1ve-year capital improvement program docs contaln a proposed water main runnIng throu~h the park south of Mr. Kehr's property., into which an 8" maln could be looped. Mr. Rukavina asked the status of the petitlon by the property o~~ers affected by the extenslon of the driveway to Dale Street. ~lr. Kehr indIcated th:1t of the three owners, 1>lr. John Salverda had signed indicating hlS approval and Mr. Borgstrom has lndlcated he does not oppose the ldea. but did not ~ant to sIgn the petition. Ed Salverda Indicated, that as one of the three property owners, he had not SIgned the petition; he did not want to go against hIS neighbors.
