Kehr
988 West Cmmty Road D
Roseville, IoN 55113

Dear Mr. !<ehr:

;
-I

At your request, this letter 1.S being sent to confinn the Roseville Fue
Departntentls position with regard to several issues concerning your pro}X'sed
tm-nhouse developlrent on County Road C.

As you are aware, the Fire Department addressed two concerns relative to this
project. The first, was the need for all adequate means of turning fire appara-
tus arotmd on this long, dead\:lld street. Tho proposals l'..ere made; first, a
CUl-de-sac at the east ternunus of the street and secoooly, a tee at the same
end. You have stated that neither of these are possible due to property size
constraints. We would s14bmit that if the three mit building located on the
north side of the street were roved 20 feet to the ",'est, there may be sufficient
room to construct the tee co~letely within your property lines.

The second concern relates to the need for water to combat a fully involved
structure fire. We have checked with the Insurance Services Office and they
infonned us that the water flow data pro~1.ded you \\'as taken at Co:.mty Ro..:1 C
and Dale Streets. There is a considerable distance and elevation difference
between the test site and the proJect slte which will have the effect of re-
ducing the pressure and voltane available at the site. It is our opinion that
the project, unsprinklered will require 3,500 GPM and sprinklered 1,750 GPM
at a mmbun of 20 PSI residual.

To date, we have not received any plans or mitten proposals on how you plan
to address these concerns. We ""QuId appreciate your early submiSSIon of these
plans and written proposals so we may address them pnor to the April 9 COWlc1.l
meeting.

~S~~~~

s B.
