The City Planner reviewed the applicant's proposal and the
Community Development Department's recommendation, which recommended a
reduced variance (377 sq, ft. versus 528 sq. ft.) from that requested by Mr. Gregg.

7.2 No citizens addressed the Commission; however, the Commission did have a few
questions of staff and the applicant. Specifically, the Commission was interested in
knowing whether the accessory building could be narrower; what exterior materials will
be used on the building; was a roof storage area of interest to the applicant; was the
Commission interested in adding a condition requiring boat and other equipment to be
stored inside the new building; and clarification on the Staff recommendation.

7.3 The Commission voted (4-1) to recommend approval of a 377 square foot VARIANCE
to Section 1004.01A6 of the Roseville City Code allowing Mr. Gregg to construct a 20
foot wide by 24 foot deep detached accessory buiIding in his rear yard, based on the
findings of Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 (revised per meeting minutes) of the
project report dated JuIy 9, 2003.

8.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

8.1 Adopt a resolution granting a 377 square foot VARIANCE to Section 1004.01A6
(Maximum Total Surface Area) of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction
of a 480 square foot detached accessory building (storage building) in the rear yard
at 1137 County Road B2, based on the findings of Section 5 and the conditions and
necessary impervious area reductions of Section 6 of the project report dated July
21, 2003.

Prepared by: Thomas Paschke (651-490-2236)
Attachments: Location map, narrative, site plan, aerial photo, PC minute excerpts, and draft resolution..

PF3494 RCA 072103 - Page 5 of 5
