The Preferable Site

The northwest portion offers an ideal site building a detached garage.
location is relatively flat and vacant of any trees or sPIubs. The existing driveway
tie into the new garage with very little improved surface that would need to be added
to gain access to the new garage.

Using this site location eliminates all those that make the backyard
problematic. With less improved surfaces than the backyard alternative, run-offwill be
less and easier to control. No trees will be adversely impacted by excavation. With
driveway, a flat surface needing minimal disruption to the yard, and less toundation
work, this will not create such a financial burden that the backyard alternative would
cause.

The Structure

This would be a detached garage, with four individual garage doors facing south (See
Appendix B). The forty foot by twenty-six foot structure would be approximately one
thousand square feet. It would be made to blend in with the current house. The exact
plans for the structure have not been drawn at this time. By knowing the variance has
been granted, this would keep us from incurring the cost of going to an architect/designer
numerous times.

Please contact us with any questions. When appropriate, we request that you submit this
to the proper committee for approval. We would like to start building in the spring, as
soon as the weather will allow us to begin. We want to line up contractors as soon as
possible. We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Christopher E. and Noelle A.
