Exceptions. <br /> <br />Sections 10-441 and 10-442 do not to the care, treatment, sale or giving away of any <br />agricultural, sport or farm animal which is used for food, sport or other product or any other <br />agricultural or farm use. <br />(Code 1982, * 7-213) <br /> <br />Sec. 10-444. Violations and penalties. <br /> <br />Except where otherwise indicated, a person found guilty of failure to comply with section <br />10-441 or 10-442 is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished in <br />accordance with section 1-15. <br />(Code 1982, S 7-214) <br /> <br />Sees. 10-445-10-470. Reserved. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VIII. DEER :MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />Sec. 10-471. Feeding of deer. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person or group to place or permit to be placed on the ground <br />or within four feet ofthe ground surface, either on property owned or controlled by such person <br />or on property owned by others, unless it is screened in a manner which prevents deer from <br />feeding thereon, any grain, fodder, salt licks or any other food, including feed for birds, which <br />may reasonably be expected to result in deer feeding thereon. <br /> <br />Exceptions to subsection <br /> <br />of this section are the following: <br /> <br />(1) Feeding programs or efforts undertaken by the city in accordance with the deer <br />management plan or by the department of natural resources for such; <br /> <br />(2) Veterinarians; city animal control officers; or county, state or federal game officials <br />who, in the course of their duties, have deer in their custody; and <br /> <br />(3) Any food placed upon the property for the purpose of entrapping or otherwise taking <br />deer where such trapping or taking is pursuant to a permit issued by the state <br />department of natural resources. <br />(Ord. Special permit required for deer hunting or removal. <br /> <br />No person shall, within the city limits, hunt or engage in the business of deer removal, <br />unless such person shall be acting on the city's behalf and shall have obtained a special permit <br />in conjunction with the city's deer management program. <br />(Ord.
