3 4 5 ORDINANCE NO. 6 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, SECTION 407.02, SUBSECTION 407.02G, 7 PERTAINING TO THE KEEPING OF FARM ANIMALS WITHIN THE CITY OF 8 ROSEVILLE 9 10 THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: II l2 SECTION 1. Purpose: The Roseville City Code, Title 4, Sections 407.02, Subsection l3 407.02G is hereby amended by revising language pertaining to the prohibition of keeping l4 of farm animals within the city to protect the public health, safety, comfort, or repose l5 within any zoning district. 16 17 SECTION 2. Section 407.02 is hereby amended to read as follows: 18 19 407.02: NUISANCES AFFECTING HEALTH, SAFETY, COMFORT OR 20 REPOSE: 21 The following are hereby declared to be public nuisances affecting health, safety, comfort or 22 repose: 23 A. Diseased Animals: All diseased animals running at large. 24 B. Carcasses: Carcasses of animals not buried or destroyed within twenty four (24) hours after 25 death. 26 C. Weeds: All noxious weeds are prohibited. Tall grasses, nuisance weeds and rank vegetative 27 growth shall be maintained at a height of eight inches (8") or less in locations closer than 28 forty feet (409) to: 29 1. An occupied principal structure; 30 2. Any property line with an occupied structure on abutting property; and 31 3. A public road pavement edge. 32 This section shall not apply to natural areas such as woods, bogs, marshes, ground covers, 33 wildflower or prairie restoration and public open space or park lands as determined by the 34 city forester or naturalist designated by city manager. Debris: An accumulation of tin cans, bottles, trash or debris of any nature or description and 36 the throwing, dumping or depositing of any dead animals, manure, garbage, waste, decaying 37 matter, ground, sand, stones, ashes, rubbish, tin cans or other material of any kind on private 38 property. 39 E. Smoke and Fumes: Dense smoke, noxious fumes, gas and soot or cinders in unreasonable 40 quantities. (Ord. 207, 11-9-55) 4l F.
