I have reviewed 3 construction options.

A. I can put in cement footer; build a permanent structure (deck or wall) attached a
6.5-foot fence, most likely 8.0-9.0 tall.
B. Add a 3 to 4 foot earth berm and then a 6.5-foot fence.
C. Simply build an 8.5-foot wood replacement fence, where the existing fence exists.
This will give me an actual2.6-foot fence for most vehicles traveling on
Roselawn and about a 6.0 fence from pedestrian traffic.
(See lllustration #2 and site diagram.)

The latter is my choice, both economically and aesthetically . We all live together and
whatever we can do it keep Roseville an attractive and friendly community is the best
action to take.

Therefore, on behalf of my family, I'm requesting a variance from the council to build a
wooden fence 8.5 feet high along Roselawn, which is my north property boundary.
This fence will be constructed with Red Cedar, stained with a natural color using dog-
eared blanks. I can supply a picture of the Red Cedar fencing, since this is what we now
have on our South Property Boundary.

A fence, which should look very nice along Roselawn, will give us the privacy we would
like to enjoy, especially in the early evenings of summer. Positive action in granting this
variance is most appreciated.

Frank & Nancy N.
