MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />From: Lonnie Brokke <br />Date: January 26, 2015 <br />Tuesday, February 3, 2015 <br />Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on <br />Introductions <br />1. <br />Public Comment Invited <br />2. <br />Approval of Minutes of the January 6, 2015 Meeting <br />3. <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of January 6, 2015. Please be prepared to approve or <br />amend. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Approve/amend meeting minutes of January 6, 2015 <br />Deer Population Discussion <br />4. <br />This item is continued from the January meeting where the Commission received <br />background information. Several residents commented on the deer population and are <br />reflected in the minutes. <br />Included in your packet is the following: <br /> A background report and a number of attachments. <br /> A copy of the PowerPoint presentation that was made in January. <br /> A summary of answers to the additional questions that were raised in January. <br /> A summary of a committee meeting that occurred with staff, Commissioners <br />Stoner and Newby regarding the question of: if we had an ordinance, how might <br />we go about it and how might it be framed up? <br /> A spreadsheet of deer population related comments received over the last year. <br /> A KSTP deer related news article. <br />Mike Goodnature, Natural Resource Manager from Ramsey County will be at your meeting <br />as a resource. <br />Requested Commission Action: <br /> Discuss and determine what additional information is <br />needed and next steps <br />Park and Recreation Renewal Program Status <br />5. <br />Included in your packet is an updated matrix of Renewal Program projects and current <br />status. It is a continued tool designed to provide a snapshot of progress for the <br />Commission, City Council and Community. <br />The Natural Resource Program portion of the Renewal Program is well underway. Attached <br />is information on project progress, public outreach, volunteer/community engagement and <br />grants. <br />Any additional progress on the Renewal Program will be reported at the meeting. <br />Requested Commission Action <br />: Discuss progress and provide input <br />Staff Report <br />6. <br />Other <br />7. <br />Adjournment <br />8. <br /> <br />
