48Attendees also recognized the opposing side and appreciate seeing the wildlife in the City and <br />49look to the City to not make any changes and allow the deer to occupy the community as they <br />50do currently. <br />51 <br />52Commissioner comments followed; <br />53Commissioners asked about how Ramsey County would implement a wildlife management <br />54program in Roseville. <br />55Brokke explained that Ramsey County would guide the City. City leaders would make <br />o <br />56the decision of what to do and then utilizing the expertise of Ramsey County. <br />57Commissioners recognized that feeding deer leads to a concentration of deer population. <br />58Commissioners would consider recommending a feeding ban to the Council. An <br />o <br />59ordinance needs to have monitoring and consequences. <br />60Commissioners also commented that the first step might be to address the feeding <br />o <br />61issue then re-evaluate the situation following future deer counts. <br />62Commissioners inquired into what it would take to enact a feeding ordinance. <br />o <br />63Brokke replied that a public hearing would take place prior to a City Council <br />64action. <br />65Brokke suggested that perhaps we could have the Ramsey County Wildlife specialist attend a <br />66future Commission meeting to talk about the process. <br />67Commissioners Newby & Stoner volunteered to work with Brokke & the City Attorney on the <br />68next steps for a possible Feeding Ordinance. <br />69 <br />PARK DEDICATION – 2700 CLEVELAND AVENUE <br />706. <br />71Brokke briefed the Commission on the development being proposed for 2700 Cleveland Avenue, <br />72followed by a review of the current Park Dedication policy. <br />Commission Recommendation: <br />73 <br />74Motion by Doneen, second by Gelbach to recommend that the City accept $123,298 cash in lieu of <br />75land for the Cleveland Club development at 2700 Cleveland Avenue. Motion passed unanimously. <br />76 <br />FOLLOWUP REVIEW to JOINT MEETING with the CITY COUNCIL <br />777. <br />78Gelbach compiled notes for the joint meeting based on the Council minutes from the evening. Stoner <br />79recognized that Gelbach’s notes aligned with the night’s events. All were in agreement that Gelbach <br />80& D. Holt would work together to create a work plan based on these notes. <br />81 <br />82Commission agreed that; <br />83Further discussions on the deer population will take place at the February Commission <br />84meeting <br />85Golf Course information will be shared at the February and/or March Commission meetings <br />86Doneen inquired into the use of a task force to review golf course operations. <br />o <br />87Holt suggested that the task force be an more informal group <br />88Gelbach suggesting framing up the Golf Course information prior to bringing a task <br />o <br />89force together. <br />90Recommendations and options for the Golf Course are anticipated to be made <br />o <br />91midyear. <br />92Possible Community Center discussions during the second half of the year. <br />93 <br />2015 DRAFT MEETING CALENDAR <br />948. <br />95Commission agreed to the calendar included in the meeting packet. <br /> <br />
