ooits a
focusing on

on

presence of volatile organic
range organics (DRO) within glacial aquifer. Trichloroethylene was identified at
concentrations exceeding its Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommended exposure
limit of 5 micrograms per liter (ugIL) at two glacial wen locations - MW-2 (330 to 360 ugIL)
located near the northeast corner of the former Midwest Motor Express, .and in MW-5 (98 to 68
uglL) located near the southeast comer of Al Truck Repair. DRO contamination in the glacial
aquifer was also identified in several of the new glacial monitoring wells. During an. earlier
investigation chlorinated solvents were also identified in the perched groood water unit in two
nearby geoprobes on the Indian Head parceL In one geoprobe trichloroethylene and cis-1 ,2,-
dichloroethylene were identified at concentrations of 580 uglL and 350 ugiL, respectively, and in
the other geoprobe trichloroethylene was identified at a concentration of77 uglL.

The Supplemental Report concludes that the ground water contamination detected in the glacial
aquifer poses minimal environmental. risk based on the lack of potential ground water receptors
in the glacial aquifer, but recommends that additional environmental investigation be considered
at properties where the trichloroethylene concentrations exceed its MDH recommended exposure
limit.

The Supplemental Report is hereby approved subject to the modifications presented in
Attachment B.
