Dear Review Committee:

I am asking for your consideration in allowing us to build a 6 Foot or more privacy
fence in our front yard. We live at tbe end of an easement driveway and tbe front of
our bouse actually faces Hwy 36. Tbe noise level bas significantly increased over the
years due to the added lanes on Hwy 36. There are no trees or shruhs along the
ditch and we have basically a clear view of the bighway from our living room
window. We tbougbt a privacy fence might belp witb the noise level and. also give us
some pdvacy from alltbe traffic that travels on tbisbigbway. Our family has tried
to tolerate the noise but it's just getting harder to block the noise out. Our TV
volume has to be turned up just to try and hear over the traffic. 1 have attached a
map of our house and as you can see; our house is extremely close to Highway 36.
We have no service road in front of our house aud the ouly way to access our home
is traveling down Sherren Street and exiting left at Milton Street. 1 just want to
build a fence high enough to blocktbe view of tbehigbway and also to help block
some oftbe noise level from thebigbway. If you any other suggestions, 1 would be
willing to consider tbem as well. I bave contacted MN DOT several times regarding
the noise level, and they have indicated that there are no immediate plans for
building a sound barrier along Higbway 36.1 believe tbeLexingtonBridge project
is at least 5 years out. 1 would like to know also if plantingoftrees along highway 36
is something that could be done by the state or City of Roseville. Planting a row of
trees in our front yard just would not help witbtbe noise as we are so close to the
bighway. Trees take a wbile to grow and we are looking for a more immediate
resolution to tbe noise and privacy issues facing our family. I look forward to your
reply so we can proceed with estimates from several local companies that install
privacy fences. Thanks for reviewing our request for a variance in tbis matter.

Sincerely,

Nasim and Jean Ayub

Our Address:
936 Highway 36 W
Roseville, MN 55113

Phone- 651-488-6873
