Agenda 10.b. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________ <br />Roseville HRA Staff Activity Report <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />To: RHRA Board Date: February 17, 2015 <br />From: Jeanne Kelsey, Executive Director HRA <br />Each year RHRA staff seeks guidance from the RHRA Board about activities that will best accomplish <br />the goals put forth in the Board’s current strategic plan, which was adopted August 21, 2012. This <br />guidance is then formulated into a staff work plan, which is approved by the RHRA Board annually. This <br />year because the City Council is meeting in mid-February to discuss its own Strategic Plan, Chair <br />Maschka asked that the staff work plan be considered at the March 31, 2015, RHRA meeting. <br />To prepare for that discussion, staff is providing an update about the progress to-date on the work <br />currently being done toward accomplishing the strategic plan goals. Going forward, staff will provide a <br />similar update at each RHRA meeting. This update will also be provided to the City Manager so he can <br />update the City Council regarding the RHRA’s ongoing activity. <br />Below (in blue) are the goals stated in the 2012 – 2016 RHRA Strategic Plan along with the ongoing <br />activity of RHRA staff toward accomplishing the goals: <br />I. <br />Foster, promote, and effectively communicate the advantages of living in Roseville. <br />HRA staff works with the Communications Department to develop informative news articles <br />· <br />f <br />or residents about Housing Programs and services offered by the Housing Resource Center. <br />These articles appear in the City Newsletter at least three times a year. <br />HRA staff worked with the Ramsey County Library to identify relevant topics for Roseville <br />· <br />residents and property owners and facilitated the presentation of 5 workshops on those topics at <br />the library in fall 2014. <br />HRA staff coordinates, manages, and produces the Living Smarter Home and Garden Fair that <br />· <br />provides sustainable information, home improvement advice, family activities and at least 8 <br />informational workshops. The 2015 will feature 10 new businesses and has more door prizes <br />donated by local businesses. <br />HRA staff is coordinating the development of educational resources in the Karen language on <br />· <br />the subject of residential rental rights and responsibilities. <br />HRA staff promotes the Green Award Program and Free Energy Audits through a partnership <br />· <br />with Neighborhood Energy Connection. <br />HRA staff maintains the Green Remodeling Hand Book and is currently reviewing new web <br />· <br />platforms on which to provide the resource. <br />HRA Staff coordinates with the Communications Department RHRA social media messages <br />· <br />and web-based services. <br />II. <br />Create and maintain high quality, sustainable multi-family housing options. <br />HRA staff met with Ramsey County to give feedback on the priorities of the County for 2015 <br />· <br />for CDBG and HOME funds. <br /> <br />
