Agenda 10.b. <br />HRA staff provided the Code Enforcement division, which began implementing the Rental <br />· <br />Licensing Program in 2014, information about loan programs available to owners of <br />multifamily rental properties. <br />HRA staff worked with the developer of the proposed Twin Lakes Apartments project to <br />· <br />submit applications for gap funding. <br />III. <br />Create, and maintain high-quality, sustainable single-family housing options. <br />HRA staff reviews property records, works with Code Enforcement staff, and looks around the <br />· <br />city to identify homes that may be good candidates for the Lot Replacement program. <br />HRA staff provided suggestions for modifications to the loan programs offered by the Housing <br />· <br />Resource Center. The Board adopted the modifications January 20, 2015. <br />HRA staff is following the progress of the house being built at 1840 Hamline to ensure its <br />· <br />timely completion. <br />HRA staff has continued to work on the redevelopment of the Dale/Cope area. This includes <br />· <br />meetings with the developer and associated attorneys and lenders. <br />IV. <br />Prevent and eliminate blight on individual properties, neighborhoods and the entire <br />community. <br />HRA staff received an intern from University of Northwestern to review the rental registration <br />· <br />program. The intern reports to the Executive Director, who oversees his work. This intern is <br />fully funded through a grant program at University of Northwestern. <br />HRA staff is coordinating with Police and the Roseville Visitors Association (RVA) to work <br />· <br />with Hamline University graduate students on a project that will review the hotel/motel <br />situation in Roseville. <br />HRA staff is coordinating with Code Enforcement staff and the Police Department to provide <br />· <br />educational meetings for rental property owners and managers. <br />The Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP), which is supported with HRA funds, will be <br />· <br />starting again in 2015. <br />V. <br />Retain and attract desirable housing and businesses that lead to employment, investment, and <br />commitment to the community. <br />HRA staff partners with two area chambers to provide monthly educational meetings for <br />· <br />Roseville businesses. <br />HRA staff, communications staff, and community volunteers have been calling businesses for <br />· <br />contact information to build a database with current reliable information. <br />HRA partners with the St. Paul Area Chamber on the Small Business Series sponsored by UPS. <br />· <br />HRA staff provides articles and materials to Communication Department staff for the Business <br />· <br />News, which appears on the last page of the city’s bi-monthly newsletter. <br />HRA staff has been meeting with the area high schools to provide internship information for <br />· <br />the Roseville business community. <br /> <br />
