Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: March 24, 2015 <br />Item Description: Pavement Distress Issues Discussion <br />Item No: 7 <br />Background: <br />The City of Roseville, along with many other Cities in Minnesota, are experiencing an <br />accelerated deterioration of the top layer of bituminous pavement. We call this delamination <br />(pictured below). There has been some research on this item in the recent year that may indicate <br />that this added distress is related to an interaction between the top layer of the pavement and the <br />seal coat treatment we apply to our roadways. <br />Staff will present some information on this topic and ask for the Commission's feedback on <br />modifying our pavement maintenance strategy in order to respond to this accelerated distress. <br />Recommended Action: <br />Receive presentation. <br />Attachments: <br />A: None <br />
