1200 deer. So they knew they needed to start hunting along with the ordinance to lower
the population to what it is today, which is about 300. For many years they would kill
200-300 each yr.
St. Paul
Not sure what affect the no feeding ordinance has had. Feels that if for sure would at least
lesson the transfer of diseases due to them not eating out of the same feed bin.
Shoreview
The no feeding ban has definitely made a difference; they don't seem to have large
congregated area of deer anymore. They are much more dispersed. There are fewer
complaints with the feeding ban.
Vadnais Heights
7ts
They have no evidence if the/a feeding ban has helped or not, they have just always had a
hunt because of the large aerial count numbers and all of the natural areas in Vadnais
Heights.
Little Canada
The no feeding ban has made a difference and is working well.
8. Are deer ticks "deer borne"? or "mouse born"?
e See enclosed article
9. Is there a full coordinated and communicated effort by the county ... or can there be...
with all cities involved and the creation of a systematic approach to management of deer.
® There is not a full coordinated effort by the County or any particular city at this time. I
believe there is a potential for this to occur.
10. Can deer crossing signs be installed in select areas, i.e. on dale street near central park
and acorn park....?
o Government agencies authorize signage in their jurisdiction only, i.e. the City on City
streets, the County on County roads and the State on State highways
