Others are more global in nature and <br />involve the economies of other countries like China. <br />Summary of Current Market Conditions <br />In 2014, the overall prices paid by end markets for the material recycled in the city's program <br />continued a steady decline, due mostly to the decrease in prices for fiber material, which makes <br />up 70% of the material recycled in Roseville. Overall prices paid by end markets for material <br />experienced a significant decline in the fall of 2014 due a loss of 200% of the value of glass, which <br />makes up 17.58% of Roseville's material. This significant drop was the result of the Twin Cities <br />losing half of it glass recycling capacity from the shutdown of one of the two glass processors in <br />the state. <br />Prices for plastics and metals saw an increase mid -year and then prices for plastics experienced a <br />sharp decline in the last couple months of the year, due to the significant drop in the price of oil. <br />This will continue to affect prices going into 2015. Plastics make up around a quarter of the value <br />of Roseville's recyclables. <br />In addition, organized work slowdown at most west coast shipping ports impacted the decline in <br />Fiber prices at the end of the year. . <br />
