He <br />recommended the group reviewing the nominations have a recommendation of a winner by the <br />next meeting. <br />Ms. Collins asked if the Commission should prepare a set of questions to review with each of the <br />candidate's references. <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the Commission should be contacting the nomination references <br />to verify and gain more information on the candidates. <br />Commissioner Carey suggested letting the references know that the person had been nominated <br />and ask them what makes this person a good candidate for this award. <br />e. Parade Discussion <br />Chair Groff stated he had not gotten the length of the flat bed. The Volunteer Coordinator would <br />be helping with signage. <br />Ms. Collins stated there are limi�ed materials available but they do have signs that could be <br />repurposed. The Volunteer Coordinator could find volunteers to help put these together. <br />Commissioner Singleton stated he had talked to someone about a vehicle and the Commission <br />would know by Friday if they have something available from them or if they would need to go <br />somewhere else. <br />Ms. Collins asked if the KOM dancers and musicians would be included this year. <br />Chair Groff suggested they discuss the budget for the event. The flatbed would cost about $50. <br />He asked for volunteers to work on the Parade Committee. <br />Youth Commissioner Dao volunteered to work on the Parade Committee. <br />Commissioner Singleton volunteered for the Parade Committee. <br />Commissioner Carey suggested if the Committee needed help painting signs to send out an invite <br />to the Commission for a specific date and time so if they are available they could come and help <br />out. <br />Ms. Collins stated with the Open Meeting Law this would need to be noticed that the <br />Commission is meeting for the purpose of painting and there needs to be three days notice and it <br />would need to be a public place. <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the paint that had been used on the old signs would need to be <br />covered and because it was a high quality paint it would take time to cover this. <br />
