Mr. Bilotta noted that it was anticipated that addi- <br />tional members may come and go, but also that it was anticipated that a core <br />group would remain long-term to address this target and various initiative. <br />Mayor Roe suggested an inter jurisdictional role as well to involve the communi- <br />ties of Maplewood and St. Paul. <br />Mr. Bilotta advised that to-date the working group had not brought those cities in, <br />but the Police Department was approaching them, and the little seed continued to <br />grow into other areas as efforts progressed. <br />Mayor Roe advised that he had planted some seeds with the Mayor of Maplewood <br />several months ago. <br />Organizational Effectiveness <br />Staff assigned: Assistant to City Manager/City Clerk Kari Collins, Infor- <br />mation Technology Network Manager Terre Heiser, former Public Works <br />Director Dwayne Schwartz <br />City Clerk Kari Collins provided an overview of the efforts for this priority. <br />Specific to the survey topic, Mayor Roe stated that the more he considered re- <br />source allocation, the mare he found it as a tool providing a metric as to whether <br />citizens felt their priorities were being met versus how those resources were being <br />allocated. <br />As part of the initiative to "conduct annual review of organizational interdepend- <br />encies and collaboration opportunities," Councilmember McGehee suggested in- <br />cluding external opportunities in surrounding communities as well. <br />Ms. Collins assured Councilmember McGehee that would be a part of the discus- <br />sion, noting the work already underway by Volunteer Coordinator Kelly O'Brien <br />in pursuing public/private partnerships. <br />
