<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville is giving serious <br />consideration to the benefits of using Instant Runoff Voting in this Special Election; that <br />Instant Runoff Voting could provide an economical and efficient process to assure a <br />majority winner in this Special Election; and that the City Council requests that the <br />Minnesota State Legislature pass House File 1719 and its Senate companion as soon as <br />possible to allow Roseville or any city to choose Instant Runoff Voting or other <br />alternative voting methods for its local elections. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Klausing, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing, and the following voted against the same: <br />none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
