.. There were some conversations about a possible pedestrian connection between the concrete
. pathway along the north side of Twin Lakes Parkway and the existing trail around Langton Lake.
.. Staff will explore some possible connections and work with staff from the Parks and Recreation
department as well as the Parks and Recreation Commission to define that alignment. This would
be a follow up to the roadway project but we would ]ook to install this connection in 2016 as
.: well.
., At this point staff is seeking approval from tbe City Council of the plans and also authorization
., to advertise the project for bids. The advertisement will be posted within the next two weeks
with a bid opening date set for mid to late September, based on the actual advertisement date.
After bids are opened, staff anticipates presenting the winning bid to the City Council for
approval to award a contract likely at the October 5, 2015 City Council meeting. This would
represent the last Council action prior to construction of the roadway.
_ Construction would start this fal] with the demolition of the Hagan building within the roadway
right-of-way and some work related to soil remediation could occur over the winter, at the
-: contractor's discretion. The project will have a required substantial completion date of August 1,
 2016.
The estimated cost of the roadway project is $2.3 million.
POLICY OBJECTIVE
The Twin Lakes project has long been identified as a priority for the City. This project would
, complete the extension of Twin Lakes Parkway and is consistent with the original Master Plan
. for the Twin Lakes area, the Twin Lakes Business Park AUAR as originally adopted in 2001 and
 the City's Comprehensive Plan.
5 FINANCIAL IMPACTS
This project will be funded with bonds from the TIF 13 district. The estimated cost of the project
 is $2.3 million.
'. STAFF RECOMMENDATION
.
