of <br />Minnesota, USA <br />Community Development Functions 2001 <br />Overall Objectives <br />Prepare staff for satisfying future demands by clarifying roles, assigning specific responsibilities, and <br /> <br />strengthening intra-department teamwork. <br />Adapting new technologies to meet the needs of our customers and partners <br /> <br />Continuing to emphasize the quality of customer service. <br /> <br />2001 Work Plan <br />The work plan sets out the specific programs we foresee being instrumental in the Community <br />Development function in achieving its overall objectives. <br />Encourage and lead community collaboration to improve our community environment, job base, and <br /> <br />diversified tax base. <br />Continue and strengthen the business retention program. <br /> <br />Increase the Housing assistance to those areas in the Community necessary to maintain the physical <br /> <br />well-being of the Community <br />Expand the outreach programs to meet the needs of the contractors and citizens through improved <br /> <br />technology and an intentional communication program. <br />Specific Outcomes <br />The following specific outcomes are expected to be implemented in 2001. <br />Update and implement zoning and building code revision to keep the City current. <br /> <br />Assist the Council and the Administration in meeting the planning needs for the community Vista <br /> <br />2010 process. <br />Continue to expand and work with the various community housing improvement options <br /> <br />available. <br />To establish the building permit process as an e-commerce process. <br /> <br />III-4 <br /> <br />
