Commissioners Absent: Kaying Thao, Gabriel Cederberg and Joan Dao Staff Present: Kari Collins Call to Order The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair Groff requested roll call. Approve Minutes of May Meeting Commissioner Christiansen stated on line 7, change "Chistiansen" to "Christiansen", line 39 change "inset" to "insert", line 42 delete the word "between", line 70 change the date to April 15, 2015, the numbering under old business should be redone to match the removal of item a (change "b" to :a", "c" to "b", etc.), and line 98 change "stated" to "suggested". Commissioner Singleton stated on line 269, strike "He clarified his understanding had been if the State were willing to make adjustments in the timing..." and insert "His recommendation would be that if the State were willing to make adjustments regarding the timing of the. .. " Commissioner Christiansen suggested changing this statement to "He suggested if the State were willing to..." Commissioner Singleton stated in line 279 it should be clear that the recommendation of Councilmember McGehee is what Commissioner Singleton would be supporting, as far as what she had said in her letter regarding expository writing and how this is not offered in the schools but it should be maintained at the State level. Commissioner Christiansen stated the statement is clear that Commissioner Singleton supports Councilmember McGehee's recommendation and what that recommendation is. Ms. Collins stated in line 279 "state" should be changed to "stated".
