Roseville Housing and Economic Development Team <br />July/August 2015 • Activity Report <br />Current Activity <br />Economic Development <br />6c. <br />Worked with several companies (listed below) to discuss availability of potential financial and other <br />resources from local, county, and state sources: <br />0 1 Biomedical company to do tenant improvements to their office space <br />0 1 Biomedical company to purchase equipment and move into new space. Staff also helped them <br />locate the space, retaining a growing Roseville business. <br />0 1 Food and Beverage company to acquire new equipment <br />o St. Christopher's Church installed the solar panels financed with the City's new Property <br />Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program for business, institutional and multi-family funding <br />o Working with one of the large owners in Twin Lakes to proactively clean up blighted and <br />contaminated site <br />• Site visit with Rebiotix, a biomedical company founded in Roseville in 2011 <br />• Actively working with the Hagen family and a large number of developers/investors attempting to <br />preserve the key Twin Lakes gateway parcel for high quality development <br />� Working with two confidential healthcare industry end users to identify suitable locations <br />� Working with SPACC to do a Grand Opening of Grateful Table, a new bakery and deli, for <br />September 15, 2015 <br />• Supporting Vogel Mechanical Headquarters Grand Opening on July 22, 2015 <br />• Scheduled guest speakers for August, September and October Business Council meetings. <br />• Obtained sponsors (SPACC and RVA) for the 2°a Annual Business Exchange, which will be on <br />December 2, 2015 <br />• Solicited proposals from brownfields consultants to begin cleaning up contaminated properties in <br />Twin Lakes. Interviews are scheduled for later in August. <br />• Reviewing options for partnerships to develop a database for a business visitation program <br />Housing Stability and Redevelopment <br />• ECHO project is moving forward and has been able to leverage the following partnerships for a total <br />of $78,500 funding: <br />o Family Housing Fund, Ramsey County HRA, Metropolitan Council HRA, Minnesota Housing, <br />Washing County HRA, Bloomington HRA, Scott County CDA, Dakota County CDA, <br />Minneapolis Public Housing, Carver County CDA, City of Plymouth and City of Eden Prairie <br />• Met with U of MN staff of the Center for Sustainable Building Research to seek help in finding an <br />intern to update the online Green Remodeling Plan Book resource <br />o Internship position has been posted <br />• Continue to track the progress being made on the new home being built at 1840 Hamline <br />o The builders have received conditional certificate of occupancy <br />• Continue to work with GMHC to develop the Garden Station development with an anticipated closing <br />in early September <br />• Convened meeting with Ramsey County Commissioner, McCarron's Neighborhood Association, <br />KOM, ISD623 ELL, and other interested parties to discuss options for Community Garden in <br />Southeast Roseville <br />Roseville Housing & Economic Development Team Report •July/August 2015 Page 1 of 2 <br />
