9b. Attachment B
SAINT PAUL AREA CHA.MBER OF COMMERCE
MEMO
To: Jeanne Kelsey
From: Jonathan Weinhagen
Date: August 10, 2015
Re: Larpenteur Avenue Corridor Revitalization
I am writing to follow-up to our conversation regarding the Larpenteur Avenue Corridor Revitalization
work that we plan to embark on in September. We have engaged Smart Growth America to help
conduct two workshops;
1. 1. Preparing for economic revitalization in the Larpenteur Avenue corridor.
A one-day training workshop for leadership from the cities of St. Paul, Roseville, and
Maplewood, tailored to elected officials with the opportunity to invite leaders of neighborhoods
and communities who may be impacted by future redevelopment and access to transit (i.e.
Karen Community). The goal would be to generate ideas preliminary to creating a vision for the
corridor which joins St. Paul and the two neighboring municipalities.
2. How to Position Ramsey County communities to benefit from new trends in real estate and
development.
A one-day training workshop for leadership from the 17 Ramsey Co. communities, tailored to
elected officials.
We are confirmed for the week of September 215Y. We anticipate pre-work to be conducted on Tuesday,
9/22 with the workshops to follow on 9/23 and 9/24.
We have secured most of the funding necessary to begin this work, however, are asking the City of
Roseville to contribute $2,500 towards this effort. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
If you have any questions please contact me by phone at (651) 265-2770.
Sincerely,

Jonathan Weinhagen
