<br />areas within the development provided, however, that such signs <br />shall not exceed 4.5 square feet in size and six feet in height, <br />and are not closer than one foot from a public street <br />right-of-way. Off premises directional signs are prohibited. <br /> <br />IX. <br /> <br />Section 14.190 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 14.190. Window Signs. Signs placed inside a <br />building for the purpose of viewing from the exterior of less <br />than 36 inches from a window area shall not occupy more than 25 <br />percent of the window area from which they are viewed, and shall <br />not block the visibility into the building from a public street <br />to the clerk or cashier's area. <br /> <br />X. <br /> <br />Section 14.191 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 14.191. Ground Signs, Area, Height, Setback <br />Requirements. In lieu of a pylon sign, a ground sign would be <br />permitted. Ground signs may be of equal sign area allowed for <br />pylon signs in the same zoning district. Ground signs shall be <br />limited to a maximum of 8 feet in height. Ground signs may be <br />set back from street rights-of-way a distance equal to one-half <br />of the setback for pylon signs in the same zoning district. <br /> <br />XI. <br /> <br />Chapter 14 is hereby amended by adding a new Section to <br /> <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 14.195. Contractor Signs. Contractor signs shall <br />be confined to the site of construction, alteration, or repair <br />and shall be constructed of high quality material maintained in <br />good repair. No more than one sign is permitted on each street <br />frontage the project abuts. The sign shall be removed within 180 <br />days of the date of the issuance of a building permit for the <br />work. A Special Use Permit is required for a contactor sign to <br />remain in place longer than allowed by this section. <br /> <br />In R-l and R-2 Districts, contractor signs may not exceed 10 <br />square feet in area or six feet in height and shall be placed <br />within the property line or construction fence. In all other <br />Districts, buildings 100,000 square feet in size and less are <br />allowed one sign not to exceed 48 square feet; buildings larger <br />than 100,000 square feet and less than 250,000 square feet in <br />size are allowed one sign not to exceed 60 square feet; and <br />buildings over 250,000 square feet are allowed one sign not to <br />exceed 80 square feet in size. <br /> <br />4 <br />
