Across the Good Samaritan Society, many projects, programs and
opportunities demonstrate how our centers provide value and give
back—through time, talent and money—in their communities.
Below are some consolidated numbers:
iIVING BACK
Ministry and missions have always been a part of life within the Good
Samaritan Society. One of the Society's biggest ongoing mission
programs is Project Outreach.
Project Outreach is a ministry that gives residents, staff inembers and
friends of the Society the opportunity to reach out in ways that can
make a real impact warldwide, in places such as Colombia, Bangladesh
and Zimbabwe.
Helping others adds life to our days, and can help us find meaning
and purpose. Project Outreach gives us the opportunity to help, with
the knowledge that we don't hae to do it all ourselves. As members
of a large Christian community, our strength in numbers helps us
accomplish great things.
This year, the Society sponsored mi
 e,ck: in Colombia and
oup kitchen in Soacha, Colombia,.,
Communications Coordinator at the Good Samaritan Socie'ty IVational Campus
in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was able to teach English to the elders. She
taught them the words "chicken," "potato° and "cookie" — three words she
taught her Colombian grandmother 25 years ago.
 LEARN MORE ABOUT PROJECT OUTREACH
www.good-sam.com/projectoutreach
The Evan, eran Good
Gamaritan Snriatv a nnt-fnr-nrnfit
__........._..... ___'_'r _..._. ._. ._.._
corporation, is a charitable, tax-exempt
organization under Section 501(c)(3) of
the Internal Revenue Code.
The Good Samaritan Society's tax-
exempt status means no employee of
the Society or its related corporations
receives excessive compensation in
accordance with the Internal Revenue
Code. It also means that Good
Samaritan Society organizations pay no
dividends and have no shareholders;
excess income over expenses is used
for the purposes of center operations for
the benefit of staff members, residents,
clients and the community.
The Good Samaritan Society's not-for-
profit status does not mean, as some
assume, that there are no funds left over
after the bills are paid. Such funds are
necessary for several vital functions,
including:
unusual expense;
• Earning interest income that can
new construction and
improvements to existing buildings.
