Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, October 19, 2015 <br />Page 29 <br />notes about other respective cominunity efforts with it prompting collaboration on <br />potential best practices inoving forward. Mayor Roe further reported that City <br />Manager Tnidgeon was planning to meet with his counterparts in those communi- <br />ties as well; with the next step to convene a very preliminary and informal ineet- <br />ing of residents and businesses of all three cominunities, with the City of St. Paul <br />representatives talcing the lead on setting that up. Mayor Roe advised that he had <br />provided various contact information for Roseville's corrununity leaders, with the <br />purpose of getting everyone in the saine room and identifying common issues and <br />proinpting conversations with each other to formulate subsequent conversations <br />and efforts fonn a inulti-disciplinary point, using those efforts already put in place <br />in Roseville. Mayor Roe anticipated additional information froin the Chamber of <br />Coinmerce and/ar Smart Growth America to have available by that time. Mayor <br />Roe reiterated that the process was still in its formative stage but would provide <br />additional opportunities for input froin all stalceholders as they had been or would <br />be identified. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding the City of St. Paul's District Planning Coun- <br />cils and Ward boundaries; special plans for smaller neighborhood areas as a po- <br />tential example; inclusion of various stalceholders in the process; other examples <br />in St. Louis Park and involvement of Ms. Kelsey; similarity of this potential <br />community process with that of previous Roseville community engageinent ef- <br />forts and ideas available from other neighboring communities. <br />Mayor Roe noted the interest of and need to involve Ramsey County in the pro- <br />cess through engaging their staff with three different county coinmissioners repre- <br />senting the three different corners along that corridor; key partnership of Acceler- <br />ate Ramsey County as they restructure county government with Assistant County <br />Manager Worthington actively involved in the process; and cooperative efforts <br />froin a Public Works perspective in addressing soine infrastructure and traffic <br />concerns along the corridor. <br />Councilmember Laliberte noted distinctions in areas not within the City of Rose- <br />ville's control and requiring collaborative efforts and those specific to Roseville's <br />ability to drive the timeline. <br />Mayor Roe reiterated that this would be a long-term effort with larger items need- <br />ing to be addressed, with soine smaller steps along the way and in the more im- <br />mediate future, but all with the goal for positive iinprovement. Mayor Roe asked <br />that staff inake this one of their frequent reporting topics to the City Council and <br />for public information. <br />At the request of Mayor Roe, and specific to the Twin Lalces redevelopment ef- <br />forts, Mr. Bilotta reported that staff would be bringing forward zoning amend- <br />ments next week; and reported that the brownfields consultant and infrastructure <br />iinprovements had been ordered.
