Councilmember Etten opined that <br />was a poor way to pursue fiscal policy when an asset may or may not be there an- <br />nually, again creating fluctuations in tax rates that would prove frustrating. <br />At the request of Mayor Roe for next steps, City Manager Trudgeon suggested <br />discussion going forward at the City Council level after further tweaking based on <br />tonight's discussion, with the goal to complete and adopt recommendations before <br />yearend to inform the 2016 budget process. <br />Mayor Roe thanked the Finance Commission for <br />b. While seeking to address veteran housing and other social issues at the <br />same time, Mr. Huffman noted that his organization was hoping to address an af- <br />fordable, safe and supportive housing environment for those veterans and their <br />families. Therefore, Mr. Huffman noted the creation of this multi -dimensional <br />proposal to tackle multiple issues while making a significant contribution to vet- <br />eran housing, and including work force development, community engagement and <br />sustainable energy efforts. <br />Mr. Huffman reviewed how the current SAHI program worked, and that non - <br />profit's ownership of twenty-seven homes ready to be rented to women coming <br />out of domestic violence situations, and now in addition focusing on military vet- <br />erans. Mr. Huffman clarified that the goal is home ownership for these renter; <br />and recognized the strong volunteer network with colleges and the construction <br />
