• EAB was found in Scott County on August 25. Infested trees were found on private property in the City of Prior <br />Lake after a call to Arrest the Pest <br />• EAB was found on a trap in West St Paul on August 24 (see map Figure 2) in Dakota County which was already <br />under quarantine. No EAB -infested trees have been located in the area as of yet. <br />SURVEY: <br />MDA Report <br />Trapping <br />o Trap removal is in process and will be completed by October 30. A total of 1,139 traps were monitored <br />by MDA (Figure 2). Six traps have been positive so far this year: <br />■ July 28 —1 adult found in Ham Lake, Anoka County (already known infested) <br />■ August 5 —1 adult found in Eagan, Dakota County near Lebanon Hills Park (already known <br />infested) <br />■ August 14 — 2 adults found near Scandia, Chisago County (first find in county, infested tree <br />found on site) <br />■ August 24 — 1 adult found in West St Paul, Dakota County (first find in city, no infested trees <br />found in area as of yet) <br />■ September 14 —1 adult found in Ham Lake, Anoka County (already known infested) <br />■ October 6 — 1 adult found at DOT rest area on 194 in Washington County (first find in county, <br />status of trees in the area unknown) <br />REGULATORY: <br />NOTICE: No Regulated Articles are legally allowed to move outside of a quarantine <br />(untreated or treated), unless they are accompanied by a certificate or limited permit. <br />Certificates and limited permits are only available when a compliance agreement is signed <br />between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the firm interested in moving the <br />regulated article. <br />Metro Quarantined Counties (Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin & Ramsey Counties) <br />• MDA and USDA issued three (3) new compliance agreements for facilities that are affected by the expanding <br />quarantine. Two (2) cooperative compliance agreements were renewed. <br />• MDA issued one (1) new compliance agreement to a tree care company in Sherburne County that was affected <br />by the Anoka County addition to the quarantine. Three (3) intrastate compliance agreements were renewed. <br />• Six (6) routine compliance inspections were conducted in the metro area quarantine. No issues were found. <br />• A mulch company located in Anoka County paid the remaining amount of the monetary penalty they received <br />for accepting ash wood from a quarantined county without a compliance agreement. <br />• Two firewood surveys completed by field staff were received. Any potential labeling violations other than county <br />and state of harvest are passed onto the Department of Commerce quarterly. <br />296 letters were sent out this week notifying the industry of the comment period for the emergency quarantine <br />for Chisago and Scott counties. The letter also listed the dates and times for the public meetings. The Scott <br />County meeting is on October 15th at the Prior Lake City Hall; while, the Chisago County meeting is on October <br />28th at the Wyoming Public Library. <br />
