<br />432 NURSING HOME: A state-licensed establishment having accommodations for the continuous care of
<br />433 two or more invalid, infirm, aged convalescent patients, or disabled persons that are not related.
<br />434 OFFICE: Unless otherwise specified, office means the general use of a building for adminis�rative,
<br />435 executive, professional, research, or similar organizations having only limited contact with the public.
<br />436 Office is characterized by a low proportion of vehicle trips attributable to visitors or clients in
<br />437 relationship to employees. Examples include, but are not limited to, firms providing architectural,
<br />438 computer software consulting, data management, academic instruction, engineering, interior design,
<br />439 graphic design, or legal services.
<br />440 OFFICE, MEDICAL OR DENTAL: An establishment principally engaged in providing therapeutic,
<br />441 preventative, corrective, healing and health-building treatment services on an outpatient basis by
<br />442 physicians, dentists and other practitioners. Typical uses include medical, chiropractic and dental
<br />443 offices and clinics.
<br />444 OFFICE SHOWROOM: A facility in which up to 50% of the total floor area is utilized for the conduct
<br />445 of a business that involves the display and sale of goods or merchandise on the premises.
<br />446 OVERLAY DISTRICT: A zoning district that encompasses one or mare primary zoning districts or
<br />447 portions thereof and that imposes additional requirements or relaxes one or more standards required by
<br />448 the primary zoning district.
<br />449 ORDINARY HIGH WATER LEVEL: The point on the bank or shore up to which the presence and
<br />450 action of surface water is so continuous as to leave a distinctive mark such as by erosion, destruction ar
<br />451 prevention of terrestrial vegetation, predominance of aquatic vegetation, or other easily recognized
<br />452 characteristic.
<br />453 OUTDOOR DISPLAY: The display of goods for sale or rental outside of an enclosed building on a
<br />454 permanent or recurring basis.
<br />455 OUTDOOR SALES EVENTS: A seasonal or occasional sale held on the sidewalk or other location
<br />456 outside a building.
<br />457 OUTDOOR STORAGE, EQUIPMENT AND GOODS:: Storage of equipment (e.g., household
<br />458 lawn/garden implements, larger construction equipment, trailers, etc.) orsalable goods on racks, pallets,
<br />459 bundles, etc., outside of an enclosed building. For the purpose of outdoor storage regulation,
<br />460 "equipment" does not include snow removal machinery that may be seasonally present on a property
<br />461 for on-site use.
<br />462 OUTDOOR STORAGE, FLEET VEHICLES: Storage outside of an enclosed building of fleet
<br />463 vehicles, ranging in size from passenger cars to commercial trucks, which are in active use by a rental
<br />464 agency, dispatch service, or other similar distribution or transportation service. Inoperable vehicles in
<br />465 need of repair or vehicles which are stored for seasonal use (e.g. snow plows in summer months) are
<br />466 defined and regulated as inoperable/out of service vehicles or equipment.
<br />467 OUTDOOR STORAGE, INOPERABLE/OUT OF SERVICE VEHICLES OR EQUIPMENT: Storage
<br />468 outside of an enclosed building of vehicles or equipment which are in need of repair or unused for
<br />469 more than 72 hours.
<br />470 OUTDOOR STORAGE, LOOSE MATERIALS: Storage outside of an enclosed building of gravel,
<br />471 rock, mulch, sand, salt, or other such material stored in piles or bins.
<br />472 OVERHEAD DOOR: A door for vehicle access to loading docks, service bays, garages, or other
<br />473 similar areas that opens vertically or horizontally.
<br />474 OWNER (OF BUILDING OR LAND): Any sole owner, part owner, joint owner, tenant in common,
<br />475 joint tenant, or tenant by the entirety.
<br />476 PARKING FACILITY: An area used for parking of customer or employee vehicles; includes parking
<br />477 lots and parking structures.
<br />478 PARKING LOT: A one-level, surfaced, open-to-the-air area used for parking vehicles.
