Councilmember Etten expressed appreciation for this program, and thanlced Mr. Huffinan for bringing this to the Roseville City Council's attention and for his worlc in coordinating all the pieces. Noting the financial gap commented on dur- ing Mr. Huffinan's presentation, Councilmeinber Etten asked if there was a price per unit gap to make this affordable for veterans. Mr. Huffinan responded that the rent-to-buy figure of $100,000 was achieved through fundraising, gift of land, in-king construction services, and cash gifts with that representing the gap their organization was seeking to fill. Councilmember Laliberte thanlced Mr. Huffman for his presentation, and noted she had been fortunate enough to know about this prograin before tonight, but ap- preciated her colleagues' input. Since this project proposed the potential for six homes, Councilmember Laliberte asked if at some point some could be initiated while filling further financial gaps. Mr. Huffinan responded that it reinained to be seen, but he would not be surprised if that happened. Mayor Roe thanked Mr. Huffinan for his presentation, and invited him to return as land was nailed down. At the request of Mayor Roe, City Manager Trudgeon advised that he would get a copy of Mr. Huffinan's presentation for dissemination to the City Council. c. Presentation on Good Samaritan Homes Redevelopment Concept for 1415 County Road B The presenters provided five Good Sainaritan informational packets, updating those included in the meeting materials submitted in the agenda packet. Mayor Roe welcomed Susan Raper, Regional Vice President for the Good Samar- itan Society in Minnesota; and Mary Stewart, Affordable Housing Financial De- velopment Consultant for the Good Samaritan Society based in Denver, CO, but serving this regional area. Ms. Raper's formal presentation included a review of the previous facility and fii- ture potential of the site based on informal and preliminary affordable housing op- tion discussions to-date with City Manager Trudgeon and HRA Executive Direc- tor Jeanne Kelsey. Ms. Stewart reviewed maps included in meeting materials and amenities by cate- gory in the area of a property, such as bus routes, services, civic facilities, educa- tion opportunities, shopping, etc.
