Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, November 16, 2015 <br />Page 7 <br />MOTION <br />Willmus moved, McGehee seconded, to authorize staff to seek a storage facility <br />as needed and to negotiate a lease agreement with a term not to exceed 18 <br />months; and at an annual lease rate not to exceed $25,000. <br />Councilmember Laliberte expressed her interest in malcing the best of the situa- <br />tion and getting the city into a plan for the future, since it had been discussed long <br />enough, and she preferred keeping the pressure on everyone to get a long-term so- <br />lution in place. <br />Councilmember Etten asked staff if they would be able to work with an 18 inonth <br />lease term; and if not what options or solutions they would put forward. <br />City Manager Trudgeon advised that to-date in discussions with property owners, <br />they .were not aware of such a short-term lease term option. However, Mr. <br />Trudgeon advised that staff would attempt to worlc within the City Council's pa- <br />rameters as established; and would report back if negotiations proved successful <br />or not. Mr. Tnidgeon assured Councilmembers that staff would staff would return <br />with definitive information to allow them to make an infonned decision at that <br />point. <br />Mayor Roe noted that the City almost had the ability to purchase a building earlier <br />this year that would have resolved this issue, but it hadn't worlced out in the end, <br />creating the current situation. Present were Chair Jerry Stoner, and <br />Members Terrance Newby, Randall Doneen, Jamie Becker-Finn, Philip Gelbach, <br />David Holt and Luke Heikkila.
