<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1166 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PLACEMENT OF ANTENNAS AND <br />TOWERS WITHIN THE CITY AND AMENDING CHAPTERS 1002 AND <br />10 12 OF THE CITY CODE <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville ordains: <br /> <br />Section 1. Purpose. The purpose and objectives of this Ordinance are to <br />provide for the safe and aesthetically acceptable installation and usage of antennas <br />and towers. The provisions of this section are intended to protect the health, <br />safety and general welfare of the community, while providing for well designed <br />and efficient telecommunications systems. The provisions are intended to lessen <br />the adverse aesthetic impact on the community by providing for placement of <br />commercial antennas on designated municipally owned facilities and to ensure <br />that antennas and towers are installed in a manner that can withstand high winds <br />and other adverse weather conditions. To meet these objectives, the City Council <br />has determined to impose location, height, and installation requirements on <br />antennas and towers. <br /> <br />Section 2. Section 1002.02 is hereby amended by adding the following <br />definitions: <br /> <br />ANTENNA: Equipment used for transmitting or receiving telecommunication, <br />television or radio signals, which is located on the exterior or, or outside of, any <br />building or structure. For purposes of this section, antenna does not include <br />"satellite dish antenna". <br /> <br />ANTENNA STRUCTURE-COMMERCIAL: Any pole, spire or structure, or any <br />combination, to which an antenna is, or could be attached, or which is designed for <br />an antenna to be attached, and all supporting lines, cables, wires, and braces <br />erected for the commercial use of or vendor of information. <br /> <br />ANTENNA STRUCTURE-PRIVATE: Any pole, spire or structure, or any <br />combination to which an antenna is or could be attached or which is designed for <br />an antenna to be attached and all supporting lines, cables, wires and braces erected <br />
