<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 702 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1187 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 702 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE DEALING WITH MOTORBOAT AND AIRCRAFT OPERATION ON <br />CITY LAKES. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />The City Code of the City of Roseville is amending Chapter 702, of the City <br /> <br />Code, to read as follows: <br /> <br />702.01: <br /> <br />702.02: <br /> <br />702.03: <br /> <br />702.04: <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF CODE: For the purpose of regulating <br />the operation of motorboats on the public waters within the <br />City, the provisions of Minnesota Statutes Annotated <br />(M.S.A.), section 86B.001, et seq., are adopted and by this <br />reference made a part of this Chapter as completely as if <br />set forth in full herein. <br /> <br />SPEED LIMITED: No motorboat shall be operated on <br />any public waters at a speed greater than is reasonable and <br />proper having due regard to safety of other boats and <br />persons. On Lake Owasso, no motorboat shall be operated <br />at a speed greater than forty (40) miles per hour. <br /> <br />WATER SKIING OR SURFBOARDING: Except as <br />provided for elsewhere in this Chapter, no motorboat shall <br />be used for the purpose of water skiing, surfboarding or <br />other similar device, on any lake unless such operation is <br />performed in a manner so that neither the boat nor the <br />skier or surfboard rider come within three hundred feet <br />(300') of shoreline, docks, swimmers or other boats. <br /> <br />NO WAKE ZONE: Except as provided for elsewhwere <br />in this Chapter, no person shall operate a motorboat or be <br />towed on water skis or a similar device at greater than a <br />slow-no wake speed within 300 feet of shore. Launching <br />or landing a skier by the most direct route to open water <br />shall be exempt from this provision. <br />
