<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />AN ORDINANCE REVISING CHAPTER 106 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1192 <br />AN ORDINANCE REVISING CHAPTER 106 OF THE CITY CODE <br />PERTAINING TO THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Chapter 106 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended to read, <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />106.01: <br /> <br />106.02: <br /> <br />ESTABLISHMENT: There is established a Fire <br />Department consisting of a Fire Chief, a Deputy Chief of <br />Operations, a Deputy Chief of Training, and up to three <br />District Chiefs. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF CHIEFS: <br /> <br />A. The Fire Chief and subordinate chiefs shall be appointed by the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />B. Each of the Chiefs described above shall hold their positions at the <br />discretion of the City Manager. <br /> <br />C. Incumbent chiefs shall remain in their positions until the City <br />Manager has made permanent appointments to such positions. <br /> <br />106.03: <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT AND REMOV AL OF <br />FIREFIGHTERS: Firefighters and probationary <br />firefighters shall be appointed by the Chief of the <br />Department, subject to confirmation by the City Council. <br />Firefighters shall continue as members of the Department <br />during good behavior and may be removed by the City <br />Council only for cause and after a public hearing. Except <br />within the limits set forth in Section 106.01 of this <br />Chapter, the members of the Department may be reduced <br />and, in that event, members may be removed without cause <br />and without public hearing; provided, however, that the <br />members shall be removed in the inverse order to their <br />seniority in the Department.
