• 2016 Pond Cleanup <br />• Working with Ramsey -Washington Metro Watershed on removing sediment <br />buildup from storm water ponds <br />• Removed —500 yards of material from Byerly's Pond week of January 11. <br />• Work on three storm water ponds in Valley Park began January 14. <br />• Owasso Private Drive <br />• Staff held a neighborhood meeting on January 19 with residents located on <br />Owasso Private Dr. to discuss storm water improvements. <br />• Staff will likely present this project to the commission on the February meeting <br />for comments <br />Transit Shelter Update <br />• The transit shelters maintained under the now expired franchise agreement with <br />OutFront Media have started to be removed. As of January 20, 6 of 19 shelters <br />have been removed. <br />Public Works — Environmental Leadership Award <br />• Roseville Public Works was awarded an Environmental Leadership award from <br />the Freshwater Society. The award was based on a write-up by Street Foreman <br />Josh Dix on the City's application of salt for winter maintenance (Attachment C). <br />The City will be presented this award on February 4 at the Annual Road Salt <br />Symposium. Street Superintendent Steve Zweber and Street Foreman Josh Dix <br />will receive the award for the City. <br />MnDot Projects <br />• The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be holding an open house on <br />Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Lauderdale City Hall, 1891 <br />Walnut St, Lauderdale for the following projects <br />o Hwy 280 Resurfacing <br />o I-694 Reconstruction between Rice St and Lexington Ave. <br />o I -35W Resurfacing <br />o I -35W N Project including MnPass Express Lane <br />o I-94 bridge repairs in St. Paul. <br />On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, MnDOT will hold an Open House focusing on the <br />Hwy 36 at Lexington Bridge Project. That meeting will be held from 4 PM to 7 <br />PM at MnDOT's Waters Edge Building, 1500 West County Road B2. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Repaired any watermain break street patches that occurred prior to Christmas. <br />• Updating street name sign inventory with GPS. <br />• Replacing signs. The last engineer grade signs installed in 2005 are being replaced with <br />the now standard DG3. <br />• Performed winter maintenance on 12 snow events <br />• Repaired 10 broken watermain breaks <br />• Collected 40 bacteriological and THM/HAAS water samples for the Health Department <br />• Sent out "freeze letters" to accounts that have a history of frozen services. <br />• Completed LED bulb replacement in City Hall and the Public Works Facility <br />
