I c+m propertY
ad;joining this gaxcel at the corner of Ham].ine and grookS, Si.nce I will
b unable to attnd the Otober 14 meeting, I am wri.tinq this letter tt
express my concerns and vice my opinion.
I am not in favor of this develognnt. I understand frcm the prior
City Council and planning commi, ssion meetings that the property is crxently
zoned for such a project, and that council approval is only necessay for the
variancs proposed and for the developers to obtain tax free revenue bonds.
My cancerns are as follvws :
Tax Free Revenue Bond Status - In the seven years t @ residd
in Fmeville, I have ben aware of constant industrial ccmrerci,l. and oth.
high density dveloanen, Narby devlopments include an offic building
in the iiamtine Center, office condos jtist north of the Forum Apa,rtrnnts on
Hamline, an office building a3jacnt o the qolf course on Co. 1, II-,
t'ee reSau'ants anr3 A'CR offices at Co. Rd. C and Snelli.ng and constructio oE
twa rew shopping centers on Co. Id. B-2 across Pran Rosedaleo My impression
is t}Zat RQseriil is agrssively seeking tki.s type of develonent to the
detrirent ot the single fmily hancmer, Bcause of th increased traffic
and higher density, it is becaning a less attractive camnnit-}r i.r which to
reside. I do not be.iev xt is in the best interest of curren residents
for the Council to encourag such devlopmnts by lending the ci.ty's tax
frce bariciirag status.
Additional Traffic - Traffic along imline is havy now. At times, it
is nearly oss.ibl ta tuxn 1£t frcm any intrsection kten Co. Rds. C
and I3-2. Addiional traffic also decreass the desireabiliy oE residntial
properties along Hamline and increases accidnt Potnti,al far small childrn
in th neighborhood.
