Unless otherWise <br />specified, the gate valves furnished shall comply with the following <br />supplementary requirements. <br />(1) The gate valves sha�l be resilien� seat type, with parallel <br />seats and a two-inch operating nut upening counter-elockwise. <br />(2) All gate valyea 12-inahes or s�a2ler in size shall be flarnished <br />with 0-Ring stem seals. <br />(3) All gate valves 16-inches or larger in size shall be of the <br />double square bottom type arranged for operation in �h� <br />horizontal position and shall be equipped with bypass valves. <br />(�) All gate valves 12-inches or larger in size shall be o�' tha <br />non-rising stem type equipped with approved barrel tvpe rugged <br />gate position indicators. <br />(5) All gears on gate valves shall be cut tooth steel. �ears, housed <br />in heavy cast iron extended ty�e grease cases of approveti <br />design. <br />(6) The valve interior shall have a two part thermosetting epo:ty <br />approved for potable water. <br />(7) AY1 gate valves shall have mechanical joint ends. <br />
