If any options are providsd far� as to type� grade, <br />or design of the material, the choice shall be limited a� may be <br />stipulated in the Plans or Special Conditions <br />All manufactured products shall conform in detail to such standard <br />design drawings as may be referenced or furnished in the Plaaia. <br />Otherwiae, the Dppartment may require advance approva], of material <br />suppliers, product design, or other unspecified details a9 it deems <br />desirable for maintaining adopted atandards. <br />Wherever connection of dis�imilar materials or designs 2s required, the <br />method of joining and any special fittings e�ployed shall be subject to <br />approval of the Engineer. <br />302.100 Pioe �, Fittin�s <br />302.101 Watermain Piae and Fittiru�s <br />The pipe and fittings furnished shall be of the Ductile Iron type as <br />specified for each particular use or installation. , <br />Ductile iron pipe shall conform to the requirements of ASA A-25.S1 <br />(Ductile Iron Pipe Centrifugally Cast in Metal Moldg �f Sand-Lined <br />Molds). In addition� the pipe shall cooply with the following <br />supplementary provisions: <br />(1) Fittings shall conform to the requirements of ASA A��1.10 (Ga�ay <br />Iron and Ductile Iron Fittings) for the joint type specified. <br />(2) All pipe and fittings shall be !'urnished with cement mortar <br />lining oeeting the requirements of ASA A-21.0 for standard <br />thickness lining. All interior and exterior surfaces of the <br />pipe and fittir� s shall have a tar or bituminous seal aoating <br />at least one mil thick. Spotty or thin seal coating� or po4r <br />coating adhesion, shall be cause for rejection. <br />(3) A Certifica�e of Compliance shall be furnished stating that the <br />materials furnished have been tested and are in compliance Nith <br />the specification requirements. <br />302.102 Water Service Pipe & Fittinxs <br />Water service pipe of three inches or larger in��de diameter shall <br />conforr� Co the requirements for Watermain Pipe and Fittings as �et <br />forth under the pr�vision� of 302.1. <br />WaL�:r• service pipe ot' two inches or less in inside diameter° shall <br />conForm to �he requirements of AUThI B$8 f'or �eamless Copper 'rlater <br />
