FFEDERlCK BEf'JTZ NIILC7 THOMPSON ROBERT RIEiO,% !C
September 220 1987
MEMORANDUM
Re: RosePointe - Phase I
Commission Number: 85-31
On Wednesday. September 16 1987, a meeting was held at the job site
to review and discuss the potential to retain existing vegetation
along the project's southerr property line. Those in attendance were:
Noward Dahlgren and Dave Janisch. City of Rosevil{e; Jim Johnston
Pointe Development; Tony Christensen, Bor-Son; Chris Mickman and
Ellen Dawns Mickman 6rothers Nurseries; and myself. The following
issues were discussed:
1. Firstly we reviewed
in question (segment
and the NSP easement
existing growth and
required by the City
of the NS easement
the approved landscape plan whereby the area
of land be'tween the southern property line
line) was shown as being cleared of all
replaced with sod. The landscap sc►-een,
f Rosevills would occur along and north
line.
2. After obsering this area in the field, it was agreed upon to
leave as much+ ofi the existing growth in lace as possible.
However Howard requsted 1-hat areas contining weedy grasses
be removed and replaced with sod. The landscape screen will
now occur along the edge of existing vegetation. Plant material,
sizes and quantities shall remain as originally designed. A
revised landscape plan will be submifited for review and approval.
3. With this decision the appoved grading and drainage plan must
also be modified to accommodate the redesign. In lieu of adding
fili to the area in questiono the h'sghesi existing elevation
wi01 rmain as i. Dainage to th east will occur naturally
and eventually tis into the new storm water pipe and existing
storm rater drainage system. Drainage to the wost will also
occur with existing contQurs. However, since the southwest
corner of property is slightly lower than property to the north
a drainage swale will be cut-in to tie the southwest corner into
the storm water retention pond sysfiem 1-hus allowing tis area
to draino A revised grading and drairiage plan will al.o be sub-
mitted to tlie City for review and approval.
John Akiba Jr., AIA
JA:njs
cc: loward Dahlgren, City of Roseville
Dave Janisch, City of Roseville.
Tony Christensen Bor-Son Constr,uction
Jim Johnston, Pointe Development
Chris Mickman, Mickman Brothers Nursery
Note: Or Thursday, September 17 1987 we met with Dave Janisch to
review the revised grading and drainage plan. Dave suggested
that we widen the mout ofi the swale as it connects to the
existing contour fio facilitate drainage. With this exception
the revised plan was appproved by the City.
