ORDINANCE No. 1207 CITY OF ROSEVILLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAFfER 702 * * * * * * * AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 702 OF THE CITY CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 702.02 and 702.05 ADDING MOTORBOAT RESTRICTIONS ON LAKE JOSEPHINE. The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does hereby ordain: I. Section 702.02 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended, to read as follows: 702.02: SPEED LIMITED: No motorboat shall be operated on any public waters at a speed greater than is reasonable and proper having due regard to safety of other boats and persons. On Lake Owasso and Lake Josephine, no motorboat shall be operated at a speed greater than forty (40) miles per hour. II. Section 702.05 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended, to read as follows: 702.05: LAKE OW ASSO AND LAKE JOSEPHINE RESTRICTIONS: Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code to the contrary, the following restrictions apply to the operation and use of motorized watercraft on Lake Owasso and Lake Josephine: A: Definitions: The following words and phrases when used in this ordinance have the meanings set forth in Minn. Stat. §86B.OO5: motorboat, operate, person, slow-no wake and watercraft. B: No person shall operate a motorboat or be towed on water skis or a similar device at greater than a slow-no wake speed within 150 feet of shore. Launching or landing a skier by the most direct route to open water shall be exempt from this provision. C: Persons operating a motorboat, and those being towed on water skis or a similar device shall, at all times, maintain an adequate distance (considering speed and conditions)
