Clow and Sons, Inc , <br />or "Tyton" by U.S. Pipe and Foundry Company, except where indicated or. the <br />Standard Detail sheet to be mechanical joint only for utilization on stub <br />end pipe lines. <br />All cast iron pipe shall be Class 150 pipe, Class 2 wall thickness and have <br />cement mortar lining conforming to A,S.A. Specifications A-21.4 except the <br />thickness shall be 1/16" minimum, The ex terior shall be tar coated. <br />' Provis�ons shall be made for electrical thawing of all pipe, valves and <br />fittings, push-on type or mechanical joint, in the manner sta�ed in these <br />"Special Provisions" under "ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY" and tests shall be run <br />' as stated under "TESTING ELECTRTCAL CONDUCTIVITY," Since special steps are <br />being ta ken to guarantee electrical conductivity, plain rubber gas:. ts may <br />be used with mechanical joint pipe, fittings, and valves. <br />� <br />� <br />� <br />;� <br />I� <br />u <br />,� <br />The pipe shall be provided to meet the following: <br />1. Pressure: 150 psi operating, plus water hammer. <br />2. Trench: Flat bottom trench with tamped 1�ackfill <br />(Condition B); trench shall have a max- <br />imum bottom width of 3 feet or diameter <br />of pipe plus 2 feet whichever is greater. <br />The sides of the trench shall slope back <br />1 foot foi� each 1-I/2 feet of depth. <br />Pipe on the stubbed off dead ends shall be mechanical joint with ductile <br />iron retainer glands with set screws equal to American Double-X mechanical <br />joint retainer glands. <br />Cast Iron Fittin�s: All fittings for use with cast or ductile iron pipe <br />shall be mechanic�l joint; short body fittings, cement_lined, Class 250. <br />w-i <br />5 <br />
