 -:
•
December 28, 1983

FROM :
SUBJECT:
James F. Andre
Howard Dahlgren
Planning Office Hours - December 7-28, 1983
lj Smith - 339-6122. Larry Smith and Arvid Elness were in to discuss the
proposed use of the land south of B, easterly of Dale, f-.r the Lyngblomsten
senior citizens pro;ect that we discussed earlier. They noted they
are negotiatin g with the contiguous sin gl-family homeowner to the east
with the intent of purchasin g, with a possible life estate, for the purpose
of gainin g more space on th at side. We cautioned them against maving the
proposed structure any further to the east toward the single-fami.ly homes.
We suggested again it be ve ry impo rtant that they meet with these neighbors
inasmuch as a six-story structure this close to the single-family neighborhood
will be an obvious problem for rezoning.
They noted that McGoff Construction Comp any wi11 be the contractor on the
job, and that they propose to conduct meetings with the n:ighbors prior to
• the notification for public hearin g for the Planning Commission meeting in
January.
2) Kamarch - 635-5099. Ray Kamarch and Paul Johnson from the Sperr Corporation,
formerly known as Sperry-Univac were in to discuss their having leased t11e
upr^ three floors of Evenson's Water's Edge Office Building at the northeast
c ..r of Snelling and TH 36. We discussed conditions under whicri they can
put a micro-wave antenna on op of the building, which would provide a means
of communication to their major facilities in the west end of Roseville. They
proposed a tower with guy wires, We sugested a single--mass which would only
be 35' above the penthouse; and if done that way, this woulG be within the
zonin g ordinance. We also discussed their future in Roseville. They indicated
they are attemptinq to purchase the land and buildings which they now rent
from the Space Center, and would then p ropose to expand their facilities in
Roseville. We showed them our tax increment development praposal so they
would be informed of the City's intentions, and that additional available
land would be available should they wish to expand on properties other than
that owned by the Space Center.
3) Johnson - 721-2481. Paul Johnson and Steve Wells were in from the Brown
Computer Se rvices, Incorporated, inquirin g as to their use of land and the
building at 2025 West County Road C. They are currently at 2716 East Lake
Street in the old Minnehaha Bank Buildin g; their operations would be no
problem in the County Road C building.
::
