OSetember 9, 1983
C
C
i
TO: Jim Andre
FROM: Howard DahlgrEn
SUBJECT: Planning Office Hours - August 23, August 31, and September 7, 1983
1) Hacksworthy - 533-4413. Travis Hackswrthy is an attorney who has two
lots with 185' of frontage on the east side of Wagner Place. These
lots are behind the commercial property fronting on Rice Streeto and
are opposite the boat ramp on the county park land on the ast end o
McCarron's Lake. He was inquirin g as to the possibility of putting
apartment structures on this site. Though these lots may not be
particularly attr.active as single-family home sites, there are single-
family homes contiguous to the north and noithwest. We suggestd he
might consider the development of duplexes on the site, and that he
should begin this prcess by discusing it with single-family homeowners
in the area.
2) Hedlund 633-1906. Harlana Hedlund is con.siderinq splitting a portion of
his large lot on the west side of Fairview Avenue, which backs up to the
portion of the p ark lan d an the northwest corner of Langton Lake. The
new lot would have 85' of frontage, with more than adequate cepth, and
would appear i:o be a re asonable subdivision, at such time as he may wish
to proceed.
3) Randolph - 933-7773. Dane Randolph is a remodeling coordinator for the
Burqer ICing Company, who wish to expand their patio ar:a on the east side
of their structure, and construct an outside, enclosed area (12' x 12')
for their dumpster. David Drown discussed with him the City's plans
for alterations to the service road alignment, rela;.:ive to the improve-
ments contemplated for the intersection of County Road B and Snelling
Avenue as a part of the State project for app roximately ]_985. Dane
said he would refer this to Larry Gadola, who is their real estate
manager, whose phone number is 933-3773. Randolph indicated their
interest in bein g cooperative with the City with respect to the relocation
of the service road concept.
4) Mingo - 645-9444. Edward Mingo lives at 2040 Cohansey Boulevard, and
proposes to add a 24' x 24' garage in the front of their house.
Unfortunately, this would place the front of the garage only 6' rom
the street richt-of-way, a practice not condoned by policy i: the City
inasmuch as his car would be p rojecting across the public right-of-way,
if parked in front of the garage. We discussed ways in which he could
accommodate a garage expansion by working on the side of the house,
rather than in the front.
